News for the week

Here is the news for the week. Brayden turns 13 months old tomorrow. He has a few new words: bug, clock, honk, yogurt, pee pee and lay down. He can growl like a bear and make a monkey noise. His favorite book is 10 In The Bed and his favorite song is the Itsie Bitsie Spider. He loves to stick is finger up his noise when he is eating. I have no idea why. He will do anything for attention some times. I made him cry the other day because I said “No” forcefully for the first time. I was not paying attention and talking to Ben when Brayden started to rip one of his books. I had no time to redirect him and the “No” just came out. He cried for such a long time. I felt so bad. I suppose it will not be the last time. Brayden often recounts his day as he is trying to fall asleep. He will lie there running through all the words he noise and practicing his spider crawling or his sign language (the signs of a high needs baby, they never stop thinking). He will wake in the middle of the night, say some words, and go back to sleep. He is too funny! He sits so cute these days. He likes to cris-cross his legs at the angles. You can see it in the pictures. He is also really into giving kisses again. As soon as Daddy walks in the door he wants to give him kisses all night. It is so sweet.

What's Up?

Mommy went garage sale shopping this morning and hit the jackpot. Brayden got a bunch of new books, giant blocks, a ball game, a magnet game, some electronic games for when we are older, a cool baby Einstein DVD about our bodies and the best things of all, FREE trucks and an airplane!!! And, all of it for only $8. This is the only way we shop now days. Brayden thinks it is his birthday again. Some things Brayden loves right now are pushing things around. He can’t keep his hands off the high chair. He rolls it all around, bumping into the walls and getting frustrated because it is too big to fit through all the doorways. He also loves to push around his strollers. He does not like his feet to touch the sand, but he has to problem eating the sand and throwing it everywhere. Brayden loves to turn doorknobs and shut doors. He also loves to play in the bathroom sink and squirt water everywhere. That can really get him laughing hard when the water squirt and surprises him.

He can't even let go of his FREE truck to play with something else!

Want to Laugh?

Some times it is hard to get Brayden to laugh, but when we do, boy does he laugh and makes the funniest faces!

Talking, Talking, Talking!!!

Brayden's new words are "rock," "truck," "look", "up" and "cat." I didn't know one years olds said so much! We got a smart one here!

Brayden is saying so many words, but I cannot get him to do much sign language with me. I wish he would, but I guess his grunts, whines and points get him everything he needs.

He loves trucks! We saw a semi pulling out of the grocery store parking lot. We had to stop and watch it drive away. Brayden was so upset when the truck left and when we had to go home. Then, on our walks we always see the trucks zoom by on the highway, but this morning we saw a tractor and a dump truck going through town. It was the best walk ever!!!
Brayden's favorite sleeping position is on his tummy now. This from a child that never liked to be on his tummy the first 9 months of his life.

Sleeping through the night!!!

Brayden went to his first petting zoo on Sunday at our annual Strawberry Days festival. He saw a camel, pony, goats, horses and sheep.

Brayden pulled his first six hour sleeping stretch last night, 6-19-06. It was great!!! He was in his own bed. He slept from 8-2 and then from 2:30-6:30. We will cross our fingers and hope for more nights like last night. Way to go, big boy!!!

Here is Brayden talking on the phone. He kind of passes his ear and puts the phone on the back of his head and gabbers away. It is really cute!

Brayden's new words this week are "Moo," "Whoa," and "Choo, Choo!"
