June's update...

Here are the Brayden stories from the last two months:

I put on Brayden’s bumblebee sheet a while back and he kept rolling over to sleep on our bed and snuggle with me. It took me about 3 nights to realize that he did not want to be on the bees. We switched to a stripped sheet and all was back to normal. He even told Daddy, “Another one Daddy!” (Another sheet)

He likes to go to sleep with a pillow at night and wraps his arms around the edges. He also likes to hold one of Mommy’s hands ‘till he drifts off.

He occasionally goes pee pee on the potty before bath time now.

He loves to “drive car!” He could sit in our car for hours and push every button and play with every gadget possible. He also likes to open the windows and pretend he is at a fast food restaurant ordering hamburgers and french-fries.

He uses many greetings throughout the day to talk to others or even his toys and animals (“How are you today?” “How are you doing today?” “Are you having a good day?”).

As mommy has been feeling yucky with morning sickness, Brayden has become used to her saying her tummy hurt. He will often tell me “Hope you feel better soon!”

When Auntie Jen came for visit a few weeks ago, Noni and Papa were already here. Auntie Jen knocked at the door and when she came in, Brayden introduced her to Noni saying, “That’s Noni!”

We went for his 2 yr. check up. The doctor was so impressed with Brayden’s language skills and social skills. He said, “I would love to stay and talk with him all day!” We were talking about the troublesome twos and I was telling him how if Brayden is yelling at me and throwing an independence pout I will leave him in the room he is in and tell him he can come out to see me when he is ready to be happy. Brayden proceeded to tell the doc, “Mommy leave room, by myself. But, I not scared anymore!” Don’t I sound like a great mom!

Here are his two year stats:
Weight: 29 lbs. 80 %tile
Height: 33 1/2 in. 50 %tile
Clothing: 2T
Shoe: 7

Diaper: Size 6
Teeth: All 24, the last 2 yr. molar just broke through last week

Auntie Jen got Brayden a bug vacuum and Brayden calls it his “Hairdryer.” It has been a great way for mommy to get her hair dry in the mornings.

Brayden likes to point out when you are being silly. Many times he has told Noni and Jen that they are silly, “Silly Noni!”, “Silly Auntie Jen!”

Brayden had a tendency to use a harsh, demanding voice with these days. He wants to be very independent and do things his way, at his time. We have been working on asking us for things in a “HAPPY VOICE.” When we ask him to repeat what he wants in a happy voice he goes up in a high pitched voice and adds a please to the end of his sentence. It is so cute.

We are all about “That’s Mine!” even when it is not. He does not take things for other kids he just says, “That’s my purse!” or “That’s Brayden’s train!”

We were serving Brayden something to drink for dinner and asked him, “Would you like milk or water?” He answered with an “Or…juice!” He often replies this way about our choices we offer (with an “Or…” or a “How about…” or an “I got idea…” I am so glad my kindergarteners never caught on that there were other choices besides what I offered. We have a smart one here. He is too funny.

Brayden’s imagination is running wild these days. He is getting very creative in he play and making up stories about animals coming in our house. His first story he told for weeks about a blue skunk stinking up our house. He always said, “Oh No! There is a skunk! He would tell all kinds of tales about it meeting other animals. Since then the stories have been about monsters, dinosaurs and now and elephant. He can get to scaring himself with his stories. Today he would not get off the sofa because the elephant would stomp on him and it would hurt.

The other day Daddy smells something funny and just at that time we heard a little voice sing, “I didn’t go poopy!”

For fathers day Brayden gave Daddy a card and as he handed it to him he sang the song from Blues clues, “You just got a letter!” I love how he makes connections between everything he does and learns about. He does stuff like that all day long.

Ben and I had our two cars at a friend’s house and needed to drive home. Brayden was upset Daddy was not coming with us. We talked for a few minutes to see if Brayden wanted to Daddy to drive him home or Mommy. He responded with a strong, “Braden drive!”

Brayden walks around all day asking us, “What are you doing? Are you …(cooking, cleaning, etc.)” When we tell him he always says he is doing the same thing. Ex.) “I fold laundry too!” or “I gonna do it too!”

He is obsessed with noises. Living in a condo we hear a lot of noises. He is always asking, “What that!”

The other night we were talking about all we had eaten and I said, “I know what Mommy wants!” Brayden clued in right about and yelled, “Ice cream!” How did he know?

Brayden drink with fisted hands as he is eating. He does not like to feel his dirty hand on his cup. He has always had a hand thing.

My friend called the other day to say she had he baby. I told Bray to tell her congrats on having the baby. He covered his hands over his mouth and yelling, “Oh my goodness, she had a skunk!” My friend thought it was hilarious!

I hope you feel a little more caught up. I am feeling so much better at 17 weeks and hope to keep up the blog more often.

Here we are at Strawberry Days...

Our funny picture of our umbrella that broke and flew away in a huge wind gust. It was too funny! We had to ask the upstairs neighbors to use their deck to get it down.

One of Bradyen's three new cars we got at garage sales with weekend. $9 for all three, can you believe it! (One of Bradyen's favorite sayings!)

Chilling with Mommy!
