So Thankful for Family!

Can you believe Brynn turned one on Friday? She had a singing cards party because she loves to open them over and over and dance to the music. Actually, she acts even older than one. She tries to be so grown up and do everything her brother does. She pretend plays right along with him sometimes. It amazes me how she rocks her baby and pushes her is a stroller already and pretend washes Brayden and her baby in the bath. She is so social and interactive. She really tries to make real connections with people.

Her favorite item at her birthday party was her Christmas party dress from Nonnie. She pulled it out of the bag, held it up for everyone to see and said, “Ooooo!” She is such a girl! She loves to have her pretty shoes on also. She acts all excited when putting them on. She loves putting on her sunglasses and necklaces and looking at the "pretty baby" in the mirror. She cocks her head and looks shy when you say “pretty girl!”

The other items that she liked where her two new dollies. One makes real baby noises and the other sings Old McDonald. She sings right along with it, “EEE-OOO!” She loves music. Any time I put on her music class music she is mesmerized and then after a while she starts dancing and waving. Her favorite songs Mommy sings are Old McDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, I’m a LIttle Tee Pot, Patty Cake, Row Row Row Your Boat, and her favorite of all, Baa Baa Black Sheep. She sings the Baa Baa part and Yes for the Yes sir, Yes sir.

She talks so much. She really tries to communicate with everyone and be a part of everyones conversations.  I’ll starting to loose track of all her words and animals noises. Here are some she has added to her speech since the last write-up: Papa, Nonnie, Baby, Ball, Cracker, Elmo is "Melmo," Ernie, All Done, Hot, Amen, Baa, Neigh, an owl noise, a gorilla noise, lion and tiger noises, Bath, Rest, Bink, Down, Up, Pig, Cow, and Fish, Bear, Dog and Woof. I know I must be missing some. She is putting phrases together like "No Bray", "All Done", and "Hi Papa."  The other day we thought for sure that she said, “Here book, read to me!” as she handed me a book.

Her favorite foods are cottage cheese, dried cherries and whip top. She enjoys peas, green beans, refried beans, sweet potatoes and squash. She will eat blueberries and grapes, scrambles eggs, club crackers, french fries, and cheese puffs.

She just started stacking blocks this week. She loves to do small, intricate things like taking lids on and off butter tub, taking small items out of a baggie, and she likes to put things in boxes and paper bags just to get them out again. She got a shopping cart with her birthday money from her  Grandparents Overly and Smith for her birthday so she can fill it up and put things away all day.

She can click her tongue for the tick-tock noise when I sing “hickory dickory dock.”

She is very strong willed and persistent in getting what she wants. It is a whinny time because she really wants to tell us what she wants, but does not have all the words. She pinches me a little when she is frustrated and scolds and yells “No” at Brayden a lot. She does try to point to things and is starting to say, “that.”

She seems to love anticipation games and gets so wrapped up in excitement when she hears Brayden running to get her. She enjoys hide-n-seek and chase. She gets so tickled she I say “I’m going to get you!” She turn for me and fumble runs right to me, laughing and giddy all the way into my arms.”

Now on to Brayden:

He has become the best at saying meaningful prayers that can bring you to tears. Here are just a few that we have written down.

“Dear God, Thank you for this food. Thank you for this day. I need you to love me and take care of me. Amen.”

“Dear God, Thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you for this healthy food, for Levi coming to play, and um, well I don’t want to go to church! Amen.”

He has decided school is no longer fun and that he wants his old friends back. He even told me before school the other day that he would go to Target with me if he could miss school. Now that really is Brayden not wanting to go to school.

He is full of sweet words like these:

“I call my sister my friend.”

“Brynn is a beautiful name.”

“That is a pretty dress you have on, Brynn.”

He has been more loving all around and having a lot more fun with Brynn.

My happy girl!

My happy girl loves the water, playing in sinks and flushing the toilet.

How big is Brynn? "So big!"

She gets so tickled with things some times.

She really seems to be teething this week...lots of druel, sticking out her tongue, chewing on things, and yelling
"no!" a lot. She yells "no" when she is not feeling well.

She is my JOY!

She likes to be just like her big brother and do whatever he is doing.

They love Donna's old mirror. It has been a huge hit. They check themselves out 20 times a day. Brynn always walks by and say "Hi" to herself. She even flirts with herself and says, "pretty!" Check it out!

Happy Days!

I am done babysitting the little guy we had for a while and am back to managing life and my family again. We are back to our happy selves, enjoying each other, loving each other and trying to cherish every moment .

Not the best picture, but captured Brynn making her noise she likes to make as her hand wiggles her lips.

Here is her other favorite noise has she pats her hand over her mouth.

And then yells, "Whew!"

She loves babies! Good thing she has a birthday in 3 days.

She is clapping for you.

She is walking all over the place.

Cousin Will and Brayden at their best!

I guess Will asked his Mom if Brayden loved him.

They are truly best buds.

She loves to take caps and lids on and off of things. She concentrates so hard. If it takes more than 5 minutes to accomplish the task she gets frustrated and yells, "No!" at it.

She is so independent. She wants to put on her own shoes already and yells "No!" if you try to help.

Great Grandma Alice (101) and Brynn (1)!

WOW

She can be quit the pouter.

Grandma got Brayden a great book.

BEST BUDDIES! They truly are great friends and it gets better every day.
