Feb. Update

Brayden has tried and decided he likes 5 new foods over Gramma and Grammpa's visit...corn,jello,PB and J sandwiches, fish sticks and koolaid. Wow, I hope this keeps up.

Brayden has been praying for things on his own at mealtimes and bedtime. The other day we went to Subway for lunch and he put his hands together, without prompting, and said, "Thank you God. Thank you water. Thank you pizza."

Story time a few weeks ago had the theme of wizards. While there we learned a little chant and made magic wands. Brayden has been using his wand and turning us all into frogs and mooses, and ducks this week. He says, " Abra Kadabra, Auntie E, a frog!" It is really neat!

Brayden is really coming out of his shell this week. He has been growling and roaring with Grammpa, running around all over the house, climbing on sofas, beds and chairs, climbing over and under our legs, wanting to do summer salts with Gramma, wiggling and dancing, and talking up a storm.

He loves his choir of singing/animated animals. He lines them up on the coffee table and systematically turns each one on until they are all singing at the same time. Brayden seems to have an order and time he wants them to move and sing to. Once they are all singing to suit him he proceeds to dance along. It is a crack up.

Brayden knows he needs his shoes on in order to go out on the deck. The other day we looked over at him by the screen door and he already had one boot on, the wrong foot, but hey...

He is trying to count to 20 more and more. It goes like this 1 thru 13 then,17,19, 20.

It has been a blast having Gramma, Grampa and Auntie E here this week.

Here is Brayden's favorite past time...
picking toe fuzz!

Here is Brayden's best friend Eva writing down the agenda for their next play date. Brayden often calls her on his pretend phone and she calls him on hers. She calls him "Bray, bray!" When Brayden called her the other day his conversation went like this: "Hi Eba, How are you. I lub you, bye!"

"Mmmmm, whip top! My favorite!"

We love our swimming time every Tues. morning. I just got him a new floating device I hope will get him to float and balance on his own in the water. I hope it will get him to practice kicking more and using his arms to move himself along.

Here we are walking the edge in the deep end.

He loves pouring water out of all kinds of containers.

Brayden and Mommy at music class. I don't think we will tak
e the next session. Brayden does not seem very comfortable around all the busy children. He clings to me and takes almost all class to open up. He told me the other day he did not like music class. Maybe we will try it again in the fall. That is okay. He loves music with me at home. You know us, we are singing all day long.

Can you find Gramma's baby snowman? Brayden likes to say "Where did it go?" with his face all scrunched up with concern.

I love how we can say "smile" or "happy face" and Brayden lights up for a picture!

Silly Boy!

Brayden is so silly these days. He loves to run around and scream, wrestle and dance with his singing animals. You can see all his silliness on the 3 new videos.

Oh, the fun we have!

Brayden loves to help Daddy fix things. He has his own electric screwdriver and uses my head light to help out.

Brayden counted from 1-13 for the first time tonight, all by himself. Daddy and I were blown away.

I drew a triangle the other day and asked him what it was. He said "triangle", of course, but then added, "3 sides" and traced the outline of the sides with his finger. Wow!

I got Brayden sorting cups with teddy bears at the used store. He has been matching colors on his ball game so, I thought he just might be challenged by it. He got it the first time I showed him what to do. He would even say, "Red cup, red bear. Blue cup, blue bear." I only showed him what to do I did not used color words like he did. He is amazing!

The other night at dinner we forgot to say our prayers. Brayden ate a few bits and stopped, putting his hands together and said his own prayer. It went like this: "Thank you God, for our food, ate our food, a great day, bears. Amen." I thought it was a beautiful prayer, especially for his first prayer by himself.

We are having regular give and take conversations every day now. He helps sing songs and read stories with me. I am starting to give him some choices and he is able to pick between two things he wants sometimes. We are having more fun than ever. I am loving this stage.

Here are some of his funny looks as he says, "Broken Daddy!"

Brayden loves to make noises in cups and bowls and hear his voice sound funny.

Here is Brayden playing fall on the bed.

Here is Brayden waking up.

He loves his baby!

Mommy used to sleep like this all the time as a child.

Brayden loves to make faces. He can make a happy face, which you see here, an angry face, and a scared face.

And, of course, a silly face!

Brayden plays is the snow every day. We made a BIG snowman today.

This is his scared face.

Gramma and Grampa Overly and Auntie E come in 4 days. We are so excited!
