More from Vacation!

Jan. 16

This week we went to Target. I let Brayden out of the cart to run and play hide-n-seek around the children’s section. Next thing I heard was a little voice saying, “Cute!” I looked over to see Brayden holding up a girls sweater. He continue to hold up girls clothing saying ,”Cute!” every time. It was too funny. Mmm, maybe I say “Cute” too much (right dad)?

Brayden is eating some new things these days. He loves raisins, peanut butter and cucumbers.

Brayden is back to chewing a lot. He has his fingers in his mouth while watching TV, reading books or in the car. He is also chewing on his shirt sleeve, collar and even his socks. Donna says Ben used to chew on his shirt collars. I am hopping it is not a long phase. I don’t really like it, but maybe his 2 yr. Molars are working there way through. He has had some pretty grouchy days and restless nights recently.

More phrases Brayden continues to say are: good morning, Ooo pretty, again-again, come here, and the other day he put a huge sentence together and said, “Mommy, more strawberries please!” He says please, thank you and your welcome all the time.

Brayden is starting to sing songs. His first song he sang by himself was “Row, row, row your boat. Now he is singing “You are my sunshine.” It is so cool! His favorite book is We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. He reads along now saying the important words like “oh-oh,” “Oh No” “Through it” “A cave” “A teddy”. He is also filling in the missing word to nursery rhymes. We will stop before finishing each phrase and he has heard them so many times that his chimes right in with the correct word to end the phrase. It is amazing, don’t you think?

Brayden is really playing with using color words in he talking. We can tell that he truly identifies Red, but the others are not consistent yet. He often counts to 6 with me and is learning to sing the ABC’s.

I have decided to not start potty training. I am reading up on how to do it, but it seems from my reading that it rarely happens before 22 months. All my reading really indicates I need to get him a pee-pee doll, too. My mom had a good idea to wait till summer so all he has to pull down are is underwear. So we will see where we are at when he hits 22 months and go from there. I’ll keep you posted.

When I get Jen’s CD of pictures I will send one last batch from our Christmas trip.

I forgot to tell you that over vacation Brayden loved Noni’s wheat rolls. He could not get enough of them. That is pretty much all he ate, besides chocolate.

Those silly fingers.

Wow, so many gifts to open.

Look at that sweet boy!

Brayden loves playing with Auntie Jen.

Boo!

Brayden loves sinks! I got his a step stool in MO. Now he can stand at the bathroom sink and play all he wants.

Brayden tried to call Daddy. He missed him so much. He is trying to swipe that card like CC machine. He is no dummy.

Brayden loved playing hide-n-seek with Noni. Isn't he a great hider.

This is Brayden playing a silly game with Papa. It kept him Entertained for a long time. Brayden would run and get a tissue or TP and bring it to Papa. Then, Papa would make a big noise and grab at Brayden as he ran away. He was so tickles by it.

Here are some more of Brayden's great hiding spots.

Just thought these were nice pictures to share.

Brayden likes to play laying down a lot right now.
One of his favorite games is to get up on something like his riding airplane and fall off sideways. He laughs and laughs.

Isn't he just the cutest!
