Singing in our Towel

Feb. 2

Brayden is 20 months old. He started saying "This Little Piggy" on his toes independently the other day. We got it on the video for you to see. He shrieks when he sees his toys he likes. It is almost like he comes home, sees his toys, and acts like he has missed them so much or like it has been so long since he has seen them. He gets really excited about things some times. His personality is really starting to shine and he is become for animated. He loves to practice walking the stairs. He is back in to loving to play with cars and trucks. He asks for help when he needs it and says "Ank (thank) You" all the time. He thinks it is really funny if things fall, surprise him, or make a loud noise. It makes him laugh his funny little fake laugh. He notices emotion on faces in his books or on TV especially happy, sad, crying, and scared. I just got him a Barney video about emotion on faces and the used store today to try to encourage his learning.

Brayden has become attached to a feely-tab blankie. He likes to lay it over his lap and hug his teddy to sleep. Sometimes he will take 4 bedtime buddies to bed with him at a time. When he falls asleep and take them all away but his teddy and blankie. I don't know how he does it, but he always seems to have that teddy by his side all night long. It never strays far. He has spelt 7 hours straight for 3 nights in a row now. When he wakes I give him a drink of water and we lay back down for another few hours. It seems by 5:30am he just can't go back to sleep without milk from mommy. I am very happy about his progress. He seems a little happier now and is taking 2 -3 hour naps also.

When we ask Brayden to read us a story he will pick up a book and start saying his 123's, ABC's, colors and what the pictures are. It is very cute!

Brayden is eating so much better these days. He will even eat a whole quesadilla by himself sometimes along with his fruit. He wants "more" of everything he like...food, toys, books, etc. He is starting to really explore sensations and try to talk about them being bumpy or smooth or yucky or ouchy. Every night when we get in the bath he steps in and says "hot." I tell him, "It is not hot!" So, he feels it again and says "cold!" And I say, "It is just right." Then he hops right in to playing.
